How to Cook a Whole Chicken on a Traeger Grill.
The day we brought our Traeger pellet grill home literally changed our lives. Cooking at home has never been the same. Cooking a whole chicken has never been tastier. Crispy skin, juicy meat and incredible flavour. All without having to baby-sit, baste, rotate, or brine your bird.

Here is how I do it.
How To:
Liberally season a whole chicken with your favourite spices. My favourite combination to use is sea salt, paprika, granulated garlic, pepper and oregano. Another favourite is Hy's Seasoning Salt.
Set your Traeger to 375F, and ignite. Let it come to temperature.
Use your temperature probe, it is the most accurate way to tell if your bird is done. Insert your probe and set the probe alarm to 165F.
Place the chicken directly on the grill grate, and cook. Cooking time depends on the size of the bird. A four pound chicken will take approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
Remove the chicken when the internal temperature of the breast reads 165F. The temperature will continue to rise slightly once you take the chicken off the grill. Allow the bird to rest until the internal temperature of the breast reads 170F.
